USB-C to HDMI adapter provides no display: desktop - monitor

Hi,
I have a desktop with the following mobo and it has the USB-C output.
I got this USB-C to HDMI adapter which, based on the user reviews supports linux.
However when I use this adapter to connect to my monitor (SAMSUNG - TV), I get no display on the screen.
Do I need to install any driver or configure my mobo?
Any ideas would help.

Not every usb-c connector supports transferring video signals . The manual mentions a thunderbolt AIC connector, but that appears to be separate from the usb connections.

IMPRESSIVE COMPATIBILITY - Designed for USB-C devices with video output (compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4).

I can't find any trace of such USB-C devices on the mobo, you may have to use a hdmi cable (the mobo should have a HDMI and DP connector)

The manual mentions a thunderbolt AIC connector, but that appears to be separate from the usb connections.

That needs a special expansion card, and look how they connect the display port to get the altmode ...

The bulit-in usb-c ports do not support thunderbolt and do not seem to support pure usb-c dp alternate mode either, so you need to use the one or both of the DP/HDMI ports.
