Dear Arch Community,
I own the ArchLinux.email domain and would like to open it up as a mail service for Arch users that would be interested in having an @archlinux.email address. Could be used as a mail address for PKGBUILDs, Arch mailing lists, website, etc.
Roundcube is available for webmail and has several plugins ready to use. Some of these plugins include ManageSieve (server-side mail rules, vacation/out-of-office notices), password management, PGP, 2-Factor Auth using TOTP compatible app such as google-authenticator and others. To login simply use the username with or without @archlinux.email. Each mailbox will have 250MB. If you need more space, you can set up mail forwarding using the Roundcube filter settings or request more space.
Both SMTP and IMAP are accessible so it is possible to add @archlinux.email to a preferred mail client. The mail servers support Mozilla's autoconfig and Microsoft's autodiscover features, so mail settings are automatically detected with clients like Thunderbird or any others that support these auto-configuration mechanisms. Additional @archlinux.email addresses can be added as aliases to the primary mail address.
Environment
- Postfix MTA for SMTP
- Postgrey Greylisting Policy Server
- Spamd/Razor/Pyzor/DNSBL/Bayesian with user spam/junk preference options in Roundcubemail
- ClamAV used in conjunction with Spamd to scan for sketchy content
- Postfix SMTP header checks to hide the sender's IP and user agent in the Received header
- Dovecot MDA for IMAP
- Dovecot mail-crypt to encrypt and decrypt mail using Elliptic-curve cryptography (ECC)
- OpenLDAP backend for auth
- OpenDKIM/SPF (signs outgoing mail to prove authenticity and helps defend against spammers)
- OpenDMARC (helps prevent mail spoofing)
- Postfix PolicyD SPF checking (incoming SPF checks)
Manual settings
IMAP
- mail.archlinux.email
- port 993
- ssl/tls
- username: uid (domain not needed)
SMTP
- mail.archlinux.email
- port 587
- starttls
- username: uid (domain not needed)
To request a hosted archlinux.email mail account just reply to this thread or use the request form.
Cheers

Hello, Can new members request again after being *silently ignored* another time after blending in with the community? Or are they ignored forever? Thank you.
Edit: Removed duplicated term

Sure you can request. There is no "blending in with the community" requirement here, but being somewhat active in the community helps. In any case, try requesting again with desired username.

Mail sent, HalosGhost. Cheers.

If you could set up a email for me it would be awesome!!
Are you paying something like AWS or you are running it on your own machine?
Thanks!

Not my own machine or AWS. It is a replicated environment consisting of Linode and Digital Ocean hosts.

I would LOVE an email like this! Could you please set one up for me? I would appreciate it greatly!

Howdy! The email works perfectly fine, though I'm unable to change my password. It throws me the error: "Could not save new password! Connection error."
Anything I can do? Tried ignoring the error and logging in through my new password but it still uses the default password and doesn't change. Thanks! c:

Hi. Logging in with only the username is needed so the password plugin can work. Including the domain is not needed/advised.

I'm afraid there's little chance of cirkit seeing this -- they haven't been active on the forums for over a year, and they previously requested that the linked topic be closed over three years ago. I'd suggest shooting them an email, but they use the same email domain on their profile, so presumably that address is also affected by the issue you're facing. I'll merge this topic into the linked thread on the off chance that cirkit chances by, or somehow gets a notification delivered to their email, but chances are you're reliant on them noticing and fixing the problem themselves.
