[SOLVED] Problem with "home_el_archphp_Arch.db" package in pacman

Hi everyone:

I was trying to update some package, for example, discord package. After I run sudo pacman -Sy discord the terminal return me next error:

no se pudo obtener el archivo «home_el_archphp_Arch.db» desde download.opensuse.org: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired
can not download file «home_el_archphp_Arch.db» from download.opensuse.org: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired

The problem is the SSL certificate from this source is expired. I'm trying to change the source url to download this file without satisfactory results. I change mirrorlist with some valid sources, but always I tried to update I got the same result with the same source URL.

I deleted the sync folder inside /var/lib/pacman but nothing works.

Talk to whoever runs the "home_el_archphp_Arch" repository....   but given where it is downloading from, my guess is your time is set incorrectly.

Looks like a problem with that unofficial repository, probably need to ask the person who maintains it. That said:

That's not how you update packages, to update packages you should do a full system upgrade with

pacman -Syu

You should never refresh the pacman database (i.e. with `pacman -Sy`) without updating (see the `u` option above). That will lead to partial upgrades, which are unsupported, and might cause your system to break.

Normally I use -Syu to update, sorry because i wrote it wrong in last message. With this options I get the same error. It is possible to change this source url in some arch config?

Re: [SOLVED] Problem with "home_el_archphp_Arch.db" package in pacman

I can solve it going to /etc/pacman.conf and commenting the line with this source url. Probably it was an installation I made some time ago to install PHP. Now I will read always Arch Forum as many as possible to make all of these.

Thanks you all for the help and I expect to learn more about arch linux to help others in the future.
