did mkfs.ext4 on device not partition

Hi. I did a mistake and run mkfs.ext4 on
/dev/sda rather on the partitions, how to undo this ?
It now throw error when i try to create partitions using fdisk

To be sure, this is not a data rescue question ?

a) you don't need partitions in all cases, e.g. if you use the disk only as data volume, you can put the ext4 directly on the disk like you did.
b) fdisk has some options to wipe existing file-system or partition-table signatures: https://man.archlinux.org/man/fdisk.8
c) or start from here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Securely_wipe_disk
