I have the same problem with you, using the same wifi dongle TL-WN725N. I've followed this but it returns:
Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
rfkill: Cannot get wiphy information
ioctl[SIOCSIWAP]: Operation not permitted
ioctl[SIOCSIWENCODEEXT]: Invalid argument
ioctl[SIOCSIWENCODEEXT]: Invalid argumentDo you know what might be the problem is?

It has been 2 years, you should generally create new topics for already solved issues, but let me do that for now, are you running that test as root and do you have iwd still enabled? You need to do the first and disable/stop the latter. FWIW from what I've heard this driver is slated to be removed and support merged into the more modern rtw driver stack in the 6.3 kernel which will support these things out of the box, so you could also try to opt for the 6.3 kernel from testing to test this HW.

Sorry for the late response and not making a new topics.
I managed to connect my usb wifi adapter to the internet. Here's what I did:
1. wpa_passphrase generated network settings.
2. wpa_supplicant connected the wifi adapter to the internet. It returned the same messges as above but it connected to the internet anyway.
