problems with booting in UEFI

hello. i followed the steps in the installation guide but when it's time to boot
my system i thrown into grub's command line

while being chrooted into the system, i did the following commands:

pacman -S grub efibootmgr os-prober
grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=esp --bootloader-id=grub-uefi ( where esp is the mount point of the boot partition)

grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

then i closed the Virtual machine ( using virtualbox ) but i can't boot im being thrown into grub command
line editing mode.

Did you check whether /boot/grub/grub.cfg has sensible contents?
