[SOLVED] Dolphin Issue / How to block a package update using pacman?

This just started happening today. My dolphin file manager has started refusing to save opened tabs after a session and I can't figure out how to restore previous functionality. I do not how to reset  it to its default state. Whenever I close Dolphin, it reverts back to showing only the home directory and it no tabs are restored.

Will someone please tell me what to do?

EDIT: It looks like something with the new version broke something in this. Dolphin was updated on 05/11/23 to version 23.04.1-1. I never thought I would end up doing this, but is there a way to go back one version?

EDIT: I had to figure out how to downgrade Dolphin which I did. My question, now, then, does anyone know how to configure pacman to ignore or block any future updates to this particular package, in this case, KDE's dolphin?

I figured it out. By uncommenting the line 'ignore pkg' in pacman.conf and putting your application that you don't want after the =, you can stop a package from being upgraded.

Just be aware, it could stop working at any time. This is a partial update, which is unsupported.

Partial update means that all packages are not updated at the same time. The dolphin package you're using WILL stop working at some point. It could be tomorrow, it could be a couple of years, but it will and it's expected.

As I understand these things, you could have problems if some library dolphin uses is updated, and your old version of dolphin is not compatible with the newer library.

I get what you're saying. There isn't much I can do though, aside from reverting back to the previous version for the moment. They seem to have broken the file manager in the last update. I've even tested this on my virtual machines and the same behavior is present. I guess I'll just have to wait for them to push out a fix.
