Ever since I mounted a PCIe card with 6 SATA ports (2-3 in use) with ASMedia chip ASM1166, booting of my Linux installation stops at this stage:
https://preview.redd.it/rv1qkrx55f1b1.p … f6e0e4fad4
It then proceeds after anywhere between 5-10 minutes.
This has been happening since I installed the card about a year ago, and apart from that, there are no issues.
It also does not happen every time - only at about 50-75% of boots.

Are kernel and initramfs on a disk attached to that card?
See https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Genera … l_messages
And then please post your complete system journal for the boot:
sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io

No. /boot and / is on NVMe attached directly to the motherboard.
please post your complete system journal for the boot:
sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io
Command returns empty output.

You'd either get an error or a url?
Is the jorunal empty?

No, it is full of logs.

Well, post the one for the current boot.

Annoyingly, last few reboots have been without the pause. Will report back when I get a pause log.

You can access an earlier boot that had the pause, eg " … -b -5" for 5 boots ago.
