Slow load time for programs

Hello,
I have used my current install of Arch Linux for over a year now, and lately some programs have been opening really slowly; Firefox - 1 minute, pavucontrol - 2 minutes, telegram-desktop - 5-6 minutes.
I didn't do any drastic change to my system.
Let me know what to dump,

Remove xdg-desktop-portal-gnome if installed and not on gnome (... and replace with xdg-desktop-portal-gtk if you need any portal implementation) for certain tools.See e.g. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=285590
