[SOLVED] VLC no audio, not shown by pavucontrol
Hello,
I'm getting no audio from vlc player 8-/
pavucontrol does not show vlc on the Playback tab.
If I start mplayer, it pops up on the playback tab and audio works.
This is an Alder Lake based lenovo laptop. sof-firmware 2.2.4-1 is installed.
A few outputs I've seen requested for audio troubles:
NOTE: VLC was launched and playing when these outputs were generated.
NOTE: another interesting thing is that 'pactl list cards' shows HDMI1 as available, and connected to a SAMSUNG TV, whereas 'xrandr' says DP-3 as the connected output.

Not sure what happened, restarted VLC and now there is audio 8-/
I had restarted repeatedly, but for some reason, now it is working...

Check for vlc zombie processes via htop. I had the same problem a few months ago and killing the zombie processes did the trick for me.
