[SOLVED] Is local:// a valid scheme for a source URI ?

I'm looking at this PKGBUILD (not mine!) which has this source:

local://CiscoPacketTracer_821_Ubuntu_64bit.deb

Is the "local" scheme prefix valid? I can't find it documented on the PKGBUILD wiki or in this list on wikipedia.

It does work, however. I'd just like to clarify if it's right as it isn't something I've come across before (I'd normally use a file:// prefix).

That is a valid scheme for a PKGBUILD, it has been supported by makepkg for 11 years, but I have no idea if any documentation about that exists.

According to the wiki there are differences and no guidance about which to use https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Nonfre … _to_choose
