[SOLVED] GDM takes a full minute to launch GNOME after logging in

Hi all,

For a while now, my GDM installation has been taking a ridiculous amount of time to launch GNOME after logging in: just under a full minute the last time I checked. While launching, my computer shows a grey screen and an immobile cursor and is unusable.

I've put up with it for a while (2-3 months, maybe?) because I reboot fairly infrequently: but it's become more and more bothersome. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

Here is the output of journalctl: journalctl -xb. While it doesn't account for all of the delay it I'm really suspicious of a 20-second gap at about line 3560: it seems like GNOME Online Accounts and/or geoclue might be timing out? I'm unsure if that's what's actually happening, though, and I don't know how to fix it.

For posterity: this was caused by having `export GTK_USE_PORTAL` in `~/.profile`, see https://old.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comm … o/id6j31z/
