I went ahead and tried to install clang-git from the AUR with yay. After a long compilation it failed installing because of existing libraries (llvm-libs). I suppose this is an error in the PKGBUILD that doesn't mark the conflict and this package providing llvm. But anyway. Is there a way to avoid a second recompilation if I try to `yay -S clang-git`? Since definitely if I run that it will recompile everything

check yays congfig and take a look in the builddir. your searching for clang-gitxxx.tar.zst file or similar. If I'm correct it's there. else, paru is always faster on the second compilation, so...

I looked in the cache directory for yay and can find the tar files but makepkg fails to install them
