I've been trying to resolve a problem where I attempt a system upgrade and it says a large number of signatures are invalid and the package is corrupted. Could be hundreds, I don't know. Haven't updated for a year.
Steps taken so far:
Re-intalled, initialised and updated the keyring
Removed older cached files
Changed mirrorlist to the new one
Checked my hd's SMART status - no problems showing.
I finally decided to look at the downloaded packages themselves. a few samples are coming up at 11K (11056B to be exact) when they should be 100's of K. Also the signatures are the exact same size - so I guess there is something wrong with a UK mirror!
Don't know what to do now. Can anyone help?

Clear the cache then try again with a good mirror.

Well, you learn something new every day. I didn't know there is a mirror status page, and now I do!
Commented out the problem ones from the list (and the first few anyway, for good measure), cleared the cache - update now running nicely!
