Just did an upgrade on my system and noticed texlive-basic replaces texlive-core, and the size difference if huge for the two packages (~500mb vs 10mb). Now it seems that my projects won't compile, so something probably missing here. I looked at the wiki, but it doesn't mention texlive-basic at all, just the core package.
Anyone know what's going on here and if there are additional packages needed that was previously included?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Ah, great! Ended up trying the meta package, and it compiles as it should now. Thanks!
