[SOLVED] texlive update

I have read the news [1] before the last pacman upgrade. I now have a similar compiling problem as stated in [2]. However, the solution does not seem to work.

Minimal example:

\documentclass[a4paper,reqno]{amsbook}
\usepackage[ngerman]{babel}
\begin{document}
Test
\end{document}

Result:

This is pdfTeX, Version 3.141592653-2.6-1.40.25 (TeX Live 2023/Arch Linux) (preloaded format=pdflatex 2023.6.19)  19 JUN 2023 14:36
entering extended mode
 \write18 enabled.
 %&-line parsing enabled.

where

seems to be the interesting bit.

As suggested in [2], I have tried

$ pacman -F ngerman.ldf
extra/texlive-langgerman 2023.66594-13 (texlive-lang)
    usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/generic/babel-german/ngerman.ldf

which has not changed the situation.

Re: [SOLVED] texlive update

You need to install the package containing that file, not just identify what it is.  Install texlive-langgerman.
