Hey guys.
So I got this problem. When I'm in connected to an wireless connection to the internet I can play all my songs in spotify. It all goes well. But when my connection is via Ethernet cable, it can't go online, always saying that is on offline mode. In my university, in the lab I work, wireless is really crap, so we usual use a cable, and this is the place when i need music most.
Does anyone face this problem too? Does anyone have any suggestion?

2023 and this gremlin ? is still here. indeed i use a ethernet connnection with laptop on my desk and if my connection drops out for whatever reason the official spotify client stays in offline mode and the client does not support manually toggling the app to online. your suggestion of enabling wifi allows the client to reconnect to the network and allows the client to play songs. something definitely specific with the official linux desktop client, as i don't experience this behavior with ncspot.

Ipatch, the original poster has not been on the forums for over a decade, so I doubt they will respond.
I will note that Spotify does state on their site that the Linux Spotify application is not official and is built by their engineers in their own time just because they want to.
As this thread it 10 years old, I am going to close it and invite you to start a new thread that you will own. I have some additional comments and questions, but will reserve them for any new threads.
Thanks.
