I'm new to Archlinux though I've been a Linux user for more than 15 years. I've recently installed Archlinux (KDE) on a Sony VAIO FZ-25 after fiddling around with it on Virtualbox. I am very happy about it.
However, after the GRUB menu and the first couple of messages (ramdisk, I believe) and it proceeds to the bootsplash, I get a messed up display. It must be from either the hardware detection or the laptop's graphic display.

Past this point onto KSplash is all good and peachy.
Is there a way to fix this glitch?

I solved the "glitch" by editing /boot/grub/grub.cfg and changing set gfxmode=auto to the correct screen resolution.
