[SOLVED] lightdm doesn't respect '~/.dmrc' file on reboot or shutdown

On my setup of Arch Linux, I use xmonad WM along with XFCE DE to use some applications of XFCE in xmonad, In lightdm the session list are first 'xfce' and on second 'xmonad', before switching to arch on previous distro(Fedora), lightdm always remebered the last use xsession, for i.e. if I'm using xfce and rebooted then it automatically selected xfce for me or if i was using xmonad then across reboot it remembered the last used session and selected xmonad for me, but here on Arch like currently i am using xmonad and i logout then in lightdm's cogwheel it shows xfce not xmonad, I tried to rename `xmonad.desktop` to `00-xmonad.desktop` under `/usr/share/xsessions` still doesn't solve this problem, can anyone guide me here?

I checked that link, about lightdm's default section, and I checked my system, and the .dmrc file has xmonad as session but still it seems like lightdm doesn't respect the content of .dmrc file, so the content of "~/.dmrc" file is:

Try the gtk greeter.
There's also a stray copy of "greeter-show-manual-login=false" below the comments for the next section.

I took care of that stray copy of "greeter-show-manual-login=false", I was using xmonad then switched to gtk greeter and logged out to see if it worked but still the selected session in cogwheel was Xfce, I rebooted but it was still the same, I couldn't understand what's causing this weird behavior in lightdm, I just don't want to click again and again on the cogwheel to select xmonad every-time when i have to login.

Check the lightdm log.
This might also be a mere permission problem where lightdm cannot access the dmrc.

So after i changed to "gtk-greeter", I turned off my laptop for few hours, maybe 5 hrs, when i turned on my laptop and the problem is solved, it didn't take effect immediately when i switched to gtk-greeter from slick-greeter, now it automatically selects the last used session in the cogwheel. Thanks for the guidance. I'm now marking this thread as solved!
