Hi,
this morning after a reboot the wifi stopped working. The wifi chip is integrated in my mobo, the chip is a MEDIATEK Corp. MT7922 802.11ax PCI Express Wireless Network Adapter, from lspci
It went like this: I boot the PC normally and notice the wifi not working but the bluetooth was ok. It happened in the past once or twice, and a reboot fixed it, so I rebooted.
This time the bootup was noticeably slower, in particular GDM froze for a dozen of seconds, after it un-froze I logged in and the wifi was still gone, but no trace of bluetooth either. I rebooted once more but again, GDM froze and no wifi.
Running ip a shows no wlan0.
nmcli general status returns:
STATE CONNECTIVITY WIFI-HW WIFI WWAN-HW WWAN
connected full missing enabled missing enabled and you can see the wifi hardware is reported as missing.
I checked dmesg and found

...and the driver failed on harware init.
Even tho yesterday I had wifi, and I upgraded some days ago, I tried downgrading both the kernel and linux-firmware but the wifi is still missing.
Is my card dead for whatever reason? The mobo is 2 weeks old, it looks unlikely...
Also, could any of this be related to GDM freezing?
Thanks.

Ok, I forgot to update this post.
While the solution wasn't exactly that one that definitely pointed me to the right direction.
After clearing the cmos battery the wifi started working again.
Also, I've updated the bios last week and no problems since then.
Thank you, marking as solved.

just had this happen to me also and it worked clearing the cmos. tried to get lazy and just load bios defaults to see if it was the IOMMU being set to enabled that caused it on my system. only difference is that i had a had the following happen to me. (sorry, i don't know how to paste it to the sub window thingy :3)
