i am using the official nvidia driver with both the 64 bit and 32 bit libs installed. Any help would be appreciated

Do you really think people can magically know what your system is? I mean, what do you even expect. You give 1 bit of info (nvida) and expect people to be able to help you. Are you serious?
Provide at least these: lspci, lshw -C video, lshw -short, glxinfo|grep -i rend, pacman -Qs mesa, pacman -Qs nvidia, pacman -Qi linux, uname -a

i apologize for forgetting to provide those details. However looking up what provided glxgears/glxinfo lead to fixing the problem myself marking this thread as solved

This is one of the first few results on Google in 2023. Hardware details don't matter; it's an incompatibility with the libraries included in HoN. I got this error on Intel UHD 630 with a complete and functional OpenGL stack, and HoN doesn't give any more details other than vid_gl2 not loading.
On Fedora I needed libcxxabi and libcxx packages, and removed all except these files from the libs-x86_64 folder :
libawesomium-1-7.so.5
libgcrypt.so.11
libudev.so.0
libfmodex64.so
libpng12.so.0
I started by removing the libs-x86_64 folder, running hon-x86_64, and trying to resolve library issues as they were reported.
My interest in HoN is because of Valve breaking Steam and Dota 2 on Linux without care. Had the context menu mess about a week or two ago that caused me to just use steamcmd and Goldberg, and now today https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota-2/issues/2390. I only do bot matches and apparently that's easy to do with HoN even with official servers shut down.
