I have run plenty of .exe successfully through wine, however I need to run a .msix app and that doesnt seem to be supported yet.
Is there any other way to run this type of app aside from running it in a VM?

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/msix/overview has info about msix and the tooling it uses. https://github.com/Microsoft/msix-packaging indicates the msix SDK can be build & used on linux .
Incase you want an alternative method, https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=36815 shows one :
extract the .msix package using 7z , locate the 'real' installer inside it and run that directly .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
