I assume you have tried to clean the keyboard.
If the laptop is under guaranty, make a claim and have the keyboard replaced.
If there's no longer a valid guaranty, just replace the keyboard. Usually, the youtube is enough to learn how to do it.
You may have expected some advice how to fix it programmatically or by changing the setup. In fact, my advice is, don't. If it were just one key, like an Alt for example, fixing it might make sense. Otherwise, it does not.
Believe me, I have replaced more than ten laptop keyboards, have had two replaced under the guarantee, and have fixed one by changing setup (using Arch wiki' https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Map_sc … etkeycodes -- I use openbox and a plain console).
The last thought, you may not be able to scan key codes any longer. If so, it is one more reason for replacing the keyboard.

Because this is not how this works, you're looking for "xdotool key l" - did you bother to read dif's post?
I assume 'l' and '.' are next each other on the lower right for your keyboard?
Chances that this is defective HW are 101% (+/-1% statistical error)
