Hello,
So I'm trying to install with archinstall built in guided installer. That's how I'm comfortable.
I've created the
EFI partition
Swap partition
And 2 ext 4 file system partitions
When in the archinstall guided installer
Obviously EFI mounted to /boot
I've tried mounting root to / and home to /home
This resulted in arch awesome desktop only booting to a terminal
I tried mounting root to /root and home to /home
This resulted in archinstall not being able to create the root.
What am I doing wrong?

What are you trying to do?
What are the contents of /etc/fstab ?
What is the output of mount ?
What is that a photo of? Do not post pictures of text. Post the text.

Sorry what I was trying to do was in the title. Create a separate/home directory while using archinstall.
Also I have no idea how I would post those to you from a system I couldn't boot into.
So I put a picture of the partition mount layout from archinstall
The problem in the end was I didn't know I needed to type startx to make awesomewm actually boot

As long as you have an Ethernet connection set up, you can do it from the install media or at a command line. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/List_o … ted_client
Then, just post the link it provides
Glad it is all worked out. Welcome to the forums
