SOLVED Sudo package update 1.9.13.p3-1 --> 1.9.14.p1-1 is broken

Today I began having issues with the pikaur package. The screen output was garbled and my bash prompt became unresponsive.

After looking at the most recent updates I decided to revert the last sudo update. That fixed the issue I was having.

Is anyone else having issues using sudo version 1.9.14.p1-1 ?

https://www.sudo.ws/releases/stable/#1.9.14

When running a command in a pseudo-terminal, sudo will initialize the terminal settings even if it is the background process. Previously, sudo only initialized the pseudo-terminal when running in the foreground. This fixes an issue where a program that checks the window size would read the wrong value when sudo was running in the background.

sounds relevant but would likely rather be a bug in pikaur. Did you see problems w/ anything else?

Did a little testing in Gnome Console, via ssh and booted into a bash console. No I did not see the issue with any other cli packages.

Overnight a pikaur patch was released. I did a reinstall on my test system and it appears that the issue I was having is fixed.

Now pikaur is asking for my password twice rather than only once like it used to do.

Re: SOLVED Sudo package update 1.9.13.p3-1 --> 1.9.14.p1-1 is broken

Solution:

As of the 1.17-1 update to pikaur it appears to work with sudo 1.9.14.p1-1
