Keyboard backlight not working

I had it working until one day ago when I changed bios settings from 30s to 3minutes, now it flashes when I click F11, the key to turn backlight on. but it does not hold the led lights on.
I tried some things here https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Keyboard_backlight but could not solve it. It's a starlabs labtp mkIII, running their coreboot version 8.50

Re: Keyboard backlight not working

Changed what in the "BIOS".    As a point of reference, if it is a uEFI machine, it technically is no longer a "BIOS".
Did anything else change at or about the same time?

Does this happen in the console? When running a Window Manager? Which One?

Changed for how long the keyboard backlight remians on, from 30 seconds to 3 inues. That's the only change I made, besides updating the system. It happens when I boot the machine and enter in the "bios" menu.

Re: Keyboard backlight not working

Have you tried to revert that?

It happens when I boot the machine and enter in the "bios" menu.

Does the backlight behaved the same in the BIOS or at the bootloader?
Does the backlight key produce any output in "sudo evtest"?

Edit: or "libinput debug-events" (you won't have to search for the device and the key does something, so we can just check on that layer)

In the BIOS it does not work, but never did. It used to work (to turn on or off) after the login menu

Here's the output of evtest, I'm not sure which one if the backlight:

sudo evtest
No device specified, trying to scan all of /dev/input/event*
Available devices:
/dev/input/event0:	Lid Switch
/dev/input/event1:	Power Button
/dev/input/event10:	HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm=8
/dev/input/event11:	HP HD Camera: HP HD Camera
/dev/input/event2:	AT Translated Set 2 keyboard
/dev/input/event3:	Intel HID events
/dev/input/event4:	PC Speaker
/dev/input/event5:	STAR0001:00 093A:1336 Mouse
/dev/input/event6:	STAR0001:00 093A:1336 Touchpad
/dev/input/event7:	HDA Intel PCH Mic
/dev/input/event8:	HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm=3
/dev/input/event9:	HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm=7

With libinput debug-events the key does nothing, it's the F11 key, all other keys does something expcept F11.

Re: Keyboard backlight not working

Not the backlight, the keyboard (AT Translated Set 2 keyboard), but w/

With libinput debug-events the key does nothing

I'd say this is a firmware controlled HW feature.

Yes, I tried reverting and also changing to 1minutes, 5 minutes etc...no success. I guess I must open an issue here: https://github.com/StarLabsLtd/firmware/issues
Thanks for the help so far anyway.
