I think this might be a kernel issue, but I am absolutely not sure, so hoping to get any tips to let me know if this should be a bug report - or if I have not done something.
System:
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.108.0
Qt Version: 5.15.10
Kernel Version: 6.4.3-arch1-2 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 20 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-12900H
Memory: 62.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Graphics
Manufacturer: LENOVO
Product Name: 21DCCTO1WW
System Version: ThinkPad P1 Gen 5
Using nvidia-open 535.86.05-1 (have had this issue with multiple versions of both Nvidia driver and kernel) which supports Nvidia Optimus.
I regularly (daily) have a complete disconnect of my Thunderbolt docking station - except the screens are still working fine (two screens connected to the docking station via DP).
This means I lose connection with the keyboard, mouse, webcam and network, all connected via the docking station.
Docking station is the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock Gen 2
journalctl -k states:
kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1d.0: AER: Uncorrected (Fatal) error received: 0000:20:00.0
kernel: pcieport 0000:20:00.0: AER: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Uncorrected (Fatal), type=Inaccessible, (Unregistered Agent ID)
kernel: thunderbolt 0000:22:00.0: AER: can't recover (no error_detected callback)
Followed by lots of ports and devices becoming inaccessible due to the docking station no longer being connected.
In addition I have a second issue where my connected screens will disconnect and go into sleep mode at random times. I haven't found anything in the logs to indicate why yet. Randomly a single screen will just say it is getting no signal, and then go into standby mode, this might also happen when booting the machine in the morning. The only way I can get it back is to power off the display and turning it back on again. I am not sure if this is related or not to the other issue.
Any advice?
