Forced FSCK[solved]
fsck failed. Please repair manually and reboot. Please note that the root file system is currently mounted read-only.
To remount it read-write:
# mount -n -o remount,rw /
CONTROL-D will exit from this shell and REBOOT the system.Getting the above error when booting into my new arch system, with ext3.

Read-only is normal for the boot sequence.
Fsck must complete its function of system check efore the boot will finish.
If you get a statement after fsck has completed its check, hit control d and let it reboot again.

Thanks for the response.
Turns out my old IDE HD that's been collecting dust finally bit it. Sticking a sata in this machine and reinstalling solved it.
