Firefox starts near instantaneously in GNOME, whether started from GNOME's app launcher or through the terminal. If I boot into LXQt and try to start Firefox, it takes around 10 seconds to start. Once it has started, it works fine.
I do not see any reason for why it should load slower on other DE's. The profile should not be corrupt, since it works perfectly well in GNOME.

Get rid of xdg-desktop-portal-gnome, use xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.
xdg-desktop-portal-gnome gets in the way and is broken outside gnome sessions since v44

Looks like it's fixed upstream and can be tested with xdg-desktop-portal-gnome 44.2-1 in the Testing branch.
