Re: No sound on PC external monitor (working fine on windows dual boot)

Windows' Fast Startup feature can cause problems when dual booting. Try disabling it, then shut down your system and turn it back on again.

Re: No sound on PC external monitor (working fine on windows dual boot)

Stop that: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Genera … es#Bumping

Where do you want audio out of? The HDMI attached to  the nvidia card? What's do you get output from a

speaker-test -Dhw:1,3 -c2

? Since there's a card 0 unaccounted for, what outputs do you get from

sudo dmesg | grep -iE 'snd|sof'
amixer -c1
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*

Re: No sound on PC external monitor (working fine on windows dual boot)

Updated aplay -l? You need to run the amixer and the speaker-test commands against the corresponding nvidia card index as printed by aplay -l. There's no codec for the integrated device, which exact PC/mainboard is this?

Re: No sound on PC external monitor (working fine on windows dual boot)

Which kernel and nvidia driver version on Ubuntu? FWIW the nvidia driver is somewhat prone to break it's HDA integration/might also depend on the kernel, I'd give linux-lts/nvidia-lts a shot.
