amd thinkpad display issues

My Thinkpad T14s Gen3 has issues with the display flashing/tearing and also completely blanking or shifting then freezing. What I mean in the first case, is that a horizontal strip of the screen will flash for less than a second with something that seems to a distortion of the rest of the screen. In the second case, it's as if the display has been turned off. Sound still works, and I can continue to input commands. In fact, I usually open a terminal and use "sudo shutdown -r now" to reboot.

I'm running Xfce and X11.

Initially (months ago) I got errors in the log that led me to believe that it was this issue: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Lenovo … _Gen_3#CPU. I added the suggested kernel parameter there, and it seemed to fix that particular problem, one where the screen would become incredibly dim, but I could still switch to a TTY. The current problem is similar, in that I can switch to a TTY, but the display is still blank. I have encountered the problem on linux-zen, linux, and linux-lts. However, now the log from journactl doesn't seem to give anything useful at the time the screen goes dark.

There is a stack trace in there, but it is not correlated in time with the screen blanking. The screen blanking comes within a minute of the reboot because I was using the computer at the time and rebooted as soon as I could.

I'm currently compiling linux-drm-next-git and linux-lts515 to see if I get the problem with those kernels, too. Others reported some improvement for a similar issue: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=284076&p=2

Hello, I am also experiencing a similar issue. I'm Wayland, Hyprland.When I open OBS to share via pipewire, the screen gets stuck. It usually appears after using OBS for a while. But I don't know if the problem is hyprland, wayland, obs, or whatever. Here are some of my hyprland errors, (sometimes he freezes for a while and then goes back to tty, and sometimes he can only shut down by pressing the power button), by the way my cpu is amd R76800H, thinkpad neo 14:
