[SOLVED] Applications Launching Slow in Sway

Hello,

I have a problem with Sway. In Gnome, all the apps launch fast, but in Sway, at first launch everything takes about 30 seconds to launch - even the file manager.

I have realized it is related to my config files. When I delete sway config, everything launches fast.
I am not sure if it is related but I am getting this error when I launch sway.

[wlr] [types/wlr_drm_lease_v1.c:715] No DRM backend supplied, failed to create wlr_drm_lease_v1_manager

I would appreciate if you could find the problem.

Here is my sway config file.

# Default config for sway
#
# Copy this to ~/.config/sway/config and edit it to your liking.
#
# Read `man 5 sway` for a complete reference.

#For Mod key definitions run "xmodmap" on terminal.

Re: [SOLVED] Applications Launching Slow in Sway

As mentioned, get rid of xdg-desktop-portal-gnome (you already have other implementations)
It's all over the forum for causing this (though supposingly w/ a fix on the road)

Re: [SOLVED] Applications Launching Slow in Sway

The issue is fixed with xdg-desktop-portal-gnome 44.2-1 in Testing. No idea why it hasn't been pushed to Stable yet.

Re: [SOLVED] Applications Launching Slow in Sway

Thanks seth,

You are awesome. I have deleted xdg-desktop-portal-gnome package, and it worked.

I haven't use my pc for a while, but I have a feeling it happened after I installed OBS Studio.

Thanks to you. I dig into XDG Desktop Portal.

For non-pros like me who is having similar issue and want to learn more about XDG Desktop Portal, refer to Arch Linux Forums
