Baloo in KDE has been stuck in indexing. And this happens both to my laptop and desktop both running KDE.so I assume it's something to do with baloo. In my laptop it is stuck at 76%.
Is there a solution? I want files index for search so I don't want it disabled but it's consuming resources so wondering what I can do. I've tried disabling searching contents and hidden folders and files but without improvement.

Did you check the journal on whether it throws any errors?
Can you "balooctl suspend/start" it?
I assume mlocate won't do?

Thanks seth. It's actually more than baloo. What I'm actually after is a certain KDE thread that runs at full throttle. I have disabled baloo but this thread is running full even on idle. It seems to be a KDE bug since I get both behaviour with my laptop and desktop.

Do you use akonadi/calendar/kmail any of the PIM suite? That will likely be due to the recent change in the kernel with io_uring and how mariadb reacts to it. It's a purely cosmetic issue for system load tools without an effect and should get fixed with the 6.4.8 kernel currently in testing: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=287343 (and I find it likely your original baloo issue will have been due to the same kernel change)

Thanks V1del. I do use akonadi for both machines.

Yes 6.4.8 solved it.
