boot.log content shown on system startup after grub update

after updating arch (grub has updated too) from (2:2.06.r499.ge67a551a4-1 -> 2:2.06.r499.ge67a551a4-2)

then i started to see system startup boot log on the screen (see below pic)

https://i.ibb.co/kJ26CRH/pp.png

what has been shown in the screen in startup was stored in /var/log/boot.log

my /etc/default/grub has

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="loglevel=3 quiet............"

i remember that quiet option hide startup details if i'm not wrong!?

but after the update. i dunno why i got startup boot log on screen again?

before update: no log on screen
after update: log shows on screen

Re: boot.log content shown on system startup after grub update

Are you actually on Arch? On normal Arch nothing changes from a mere grub update unless you manually configured a hook to regenerate the config/explicitly reinstall the grub payload

Re: boot.log content shown on system startup after grub update

Post

sudo journalctl -b

from an affected boot. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/List_o … n_services

Also those version numbers would be close to a month out of date.

If you actually got that grub version "recently" means your mirrors are severely out of date
