Cannot Boot: need to load he kernel first. vmlinuz-linux not found.

Error Message:

Loading Linux linux ...
error: file `/vmlinuz-linux' not found.
Loading initial ramdisk ...
error: you need to load he kernel first.

Environment:
VirtualBox Guest = ArchLinux
VirtualBox Host = Windows

Steps:
1) Start ArchLinux.

How do I correct this problem?
How do I fix the kernel problem?
Potential issue that may have caused this problem is upgrades/updates via yay.
Disk size was limited.  And I have since then increased the virtual drive storage capacity by 500MB.

Thanks for the help.

Boot the ISO, mount the root and /boot partitions, chroot into the system and reinstall the linux package
