[solved] theres no dhcpcd

hi i installed arch and there's no dhcpcd, i guess somehow i overlooked these steps or it's not clearly defined enough in the installation guide
then i saw another person say to install it from /var/cache/pkg or something and there's hundreds of files in there but of course, the only one that's missing, is dhcpcd

Re: [solved] theres no dhcpcd

The installation guide says to install software necessary for networking. It specifically says a dhcp client.

Go back to the install disk, chroot in, and install what you need.

Or use systemd-networkd (temporarily).

Re: [solved] theres no dhcpcd

i managed to figure out the chroot thing, but i had to use arch-chroot , chroot kept failing afterwards with some kind of error about missing devices !  important to note its arch-chroot not chroot i guess, thanks very much for the help

You managed to figure it out because I told you in your other thread.  And chroot is a viable option to if you use it properly as outlined in the wiki in step-by-step instructions.
