I'm installing Arch Linux on a new machine. I installed musescore-4.1.1-1 via pacman, but I don't get any sound at playback.
After some research, I found out that the problem, for starters, is that I don't have Muse Sampler installed.
Diagnostic -> Muse Sampler -> Check Muse Sampler: Muse Sampler library is not found.
Muse Sampler, in turn, seems to be installed by something called Muse Hub
I haven't been able to find anything related to Muse Sampler or Muse Hub, neither in the official Arch packages nor in AUR.
There doesn't seem to exist a page for MuseScore in the Arch Wiki, either, where I could find instructions.
My question is how to install the Muse Sampler library in Arch Linux, in order to have sound during playback.

Figured I'd do a quick look at this. From what I can gather there used to be a muse-hub-bin package on AUR but now it's gone. I believe there's a deb package for this floating around. You could try manually installing that.

Thanks for the response. In the meantime, I found this post on the MuseScore forums:
https://musescore.org/en/node/353503
Like you, it suggests to install from the .deb package, and recommends using something called debtap for that.
I tried it, and it worked, so it can be considered an effective workaround.
Is there a way to request the inclusion of a package in the Arch repositories? Since there is a package for MuseScore, I think it would be reasonable to also expect a package for Muse Hub, without which MuseScore has limited functionality.

I think your best bet would be to try to add it to AUR yourself. You could look at the nordvpn AUR package for an example of a build script for a deb package. Also you should edit your topic to include '[SOLVED]' at the beginning so others know there is a solution to this problem here.

Muse sampler is part of musescore and musehub is not needed in order for it to work but there is a bug in the way musescore 4.1.1 is packaged for arch. See this : bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=287518
You can install the appimage or flatpak 4.1.1versions or use the arch archive to install the 4.0.1 version which works. And wait for the packager to repackage it properly
There is a bug openned about it

Oh and there is also an AUR version of the 4.1.1 package which corrects the bug and has the sound working : https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/musescore-midi
