Hi
I'm having an issue with Thunderbird in Gnome/Wayland on Arch.
When opening thunderbird on a monitor with lower scaling in a Gnome/wayland-session and moving it to a monitor with higher scaling-factor, it crashes with the following message in the journals:
May 23 13:11:30 thunderbird[20700]: Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display.
May 23 13:11:30 thunderbird.desktop[20700]: Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[0][GFX1-]: Wayland protocol error: wl_surface@46: error 2: Buffer size (1982x769) must be an integer multiple of the buffer_scale (2).Steps to reproduce:
Set monitor 1 to scaling 100%
Set monitor 2 to scaling 125% (or higher, if not available)
Open Thunderbird on monitor 1 and move window to monitor 2.
The issue has been first reported to Wayland GitLab (see: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/ … issues/382)
And right after to Mozilla Bugzilla (see: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1834563)
Unfortunately, the GitLab has been closed and marked as a Thunderbird Issue
The Bugzilla Issue hasn't been answered since 28 days.
Has anyone stumbled across this issue as well and know a way on how to fix it, without having to set both monitors to the exact same scaling?
Thanks for your assistance
Cheers ~ Veldora
