Failed grub install

During installation i get the following error:

grub-install :error :failed to get canoncial path of /boot/efi

The command i run was:

grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi -directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=GRUB

if you ran that EXACT command there is an error, it should be '--efi-directory' with NO SPACE

Which install guide are you both following?
