As stated, I just installed arch and I want to use i3, but no matter how many times I try to re-run the config wizard with my current keyboard layout(dvorak) i3 still uses the same shortcuts as if my layout was QWERTY.

Ok, I fixed the problem by switching to a qwerty layout, running the i3-config-wizard with that, and then switching back do dvorak, as instructed here: https://gist.github.com/lee2sman/716c73 … ad325a3ab2

Those instructions read to me as if the user would notoriously start i3wm w/ the QWERTY layout and only switch to Dvorak afterwards.
So they're configuring i3 shortcuts for the QWERTY symbols, what makes sense but is a rather ass-backwards approach.
How do you set the layout?
What's the output of
localectl?

I generated the i3 config only once.
I switched to qwerty for a second.
rm my .config file from i3
run the i3-config-wizard
Change back to Dvorak.
No need for anything else!
Also, how do I mark the post as solved? I'm new around here lol.

I read that link. Again: the approach is stupid.
