Experiencing the same issue on 6.4.* kernels, rolling back to LTS kernel worked.

That's great news! So 6.5 mainline will have this audio distortion issue fixed. I'll update bug reports to reflect it, and request to mark this thread as SOLVED.

I didn't even expect that to happen tbh. Good that an adapted version was pulled into stable. I updated one of my previous comments to reflect this change. Thank you for monitoring the stable branches!
