How do I fix Chromium HiDPI scaling on GNOME 44?

Ever since updating GNOME to v44 Chromium device scaling has been broken. I use a 4K (HiDPI) monitor and by default, Chromium does not scale and appears blurry. Whenever I use the --force-device-scale-factor=2 the scaling looks good but the window cuts off the content and can't be resized properly. I'm using Wayland and I've tried with and without the --ozone-platform-hint=auto flag.

Here's a short video demonstrating the problem.

Is this a known issue? Am I missing something? How can I get Chromium to scale properly?

I face the same issue without Gnome but with sway (V 1.10) Did you find a solution yet?
