[SOLVED] KDE partition manager on i3wm can't elevate privileges

I've installed partitionmanager but I can't run it as root (like I usually did with gparted):

$ sudo partitionmanager

If I run it without root privileges, the app opens but says "Partition Manager requires privileges in order to work. Please refresh the devices and authenticate when prompted." and when I click 'Refresh Devices,' nothing happens.
I assume this is because I don't have software installed to properly prompt me for a password when the app needs to elevate privileges but I'm at a loss on how to handle that.
I read somewhere that it should be using polkit, which I have installed. I use LightDM.

Do you use startx/xinit? See the last link below.

I use LightDM and I don't think it sources xinitrc? xorg-xinit is installed but I never did anything with it. I also never changed /etc/lightdm/Xsession.

Sorry, I should have paid more attention - the dbus error is because of sudo (what's expectable, don't do that)
kpartitionmanager will likely rely on polkit and a polkit-agent to leverage permissions, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Polkit … ion_agents
