Cursor size and theme is not updated for Qt applications (Wayland)

I encountered a bug after I decided to change from the default Breeze cursor in my Plasma (Wayland session) to one of the cursors provided by the apple_cursor package in the AUR, macOS-BigSur. After applying my changes in the Cursors kcm module and restarting, any and all Qt software such as Qbittorrent, Dolphin, Plasma desktop no longer respects the cursor settings in Plasma Settings, instead defaulting to Adwaita with a different cursor size. Gtk apps are unaffected and set my chosen cursor and size with no issue.

I followed both of these links in the wiki already and none of the solutions offered provided any help. I also extensively researched the issue online across various Arch based forums and KDE bug reports but was only able to come across people having the exact opposite issue as me, where applying the cursor settings under the Plasma Settings dialog wasn't respected by Gtk apps.

Various solutions I've tried included copying or symlinking the cursor files from /usr/share/icons/cursorsmacOS-BigSur to ~/.icons/default/cursors, adding an index.theme file under ~/.icons/default with my chosen cursor set and modifying the index.theme file under /usr/share/icons/default with my chosen cursor. Every time I attempted these fixes I restarted my system, and at this point I feel like I've exhausted all other options.

Luckily it's not a showstopping issue, just visually inconsistent. If there isn't anything I can do, hopefully this will get patched sooner rather than later. I find myself wishing I stuck with the default Breeze cursor as everything was working fine before that... Is there logs somewhere where I can see the cursor icon updating to see what's causing this issue?

Ran pacman -Syu before posting of course.
