[SOLVED] Unable to start Sway/Wayland (Nvidia)

Hi,

I wanted to switch from i3/X11 to Sway/Wayland.
I installed all packages and deinstalled the proprietary Nvidia driver and installed the mesa/nouveau driver

But when I try to start Sway from the shell, it "crashes" with an error.

Here are my logs:
sway.log
http://ix.io/4FFl

journalctl -b
http://ix.io/4FFf

dmesg
http://ix.io/4FFg

drm_info
http://ix.io/4FFi

lspci -k
http://ix.io/4FFj

Can anyone help me?
Thanks.

That's a Turing chip and it supports GBM and sway should™ run fine on the proprietary driver. Make sure to enable DRM modesetting to not run into the simpledrm device.

Re: [SOLVED] Unable to start Sway/Wayland (Nvidia)

Okay, after reinstalling the proprietary nvidia driver and starting sway via "sway --unsupported-gpu" it works, but there is no mouse cursor and the screen is flickering a lot.

Perhaps i should get back to i3/x11.

But thanks for the help! smile
