Evolution "notification daemon"

I've just discovered evolution and it's one of the best mail clients I've tried so far. Unfortunately since I'm not using Gnome but rather XMonad, notifications don't pop up if I don't have evolution open. I've found some forum discussions from 2008 talking about a 'mail-notifications-evolution' package on Ubuntu, that doesn't exist any more and I haven't found anything online (besides the repo that hasn't been maintained in over 10 years).

Is it possible in some way to get some kind of daemon running or systray icon that will notify me if I get a new email without starting the full GUI?

Re: Evolution "notification daemon"

Assuming it uses the standard notification bus, try https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/dunst/
