nmcli and Network manager version do not match

Help, I updated arch linux today and now i can't connect to the wifi. I use nmcli to connect but I am getting this error -

"nmcli (1.44.0) and NetworkManager (Unknown) versions don't match. Restarting NetworkManager is advised. Error: NetworkManager is not running."

I tried to restart the network manager using "sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager.service" but the command just gets stuck on the terminal and nothing appears after that.

What does your journalctl report, especially at your latest boot and/or when you run that command?
