I am running the latest LTS kernel (6.1.54) with KDE Plasma.
My monitor's native resolution is 3840x2400.
With the following command I can change the resolution to 1920x1200:
xrandr --output eDP-1 --mode 1920x200
However, when I use KDE's settings to change the resolution, all I see is a black screen. After 15-20 seconds, as I have not confirmed that the new resolution/settings is OK, the resolution reverts back to 3840x2400 and the desktop appears again.
How can I go about debugging this?

We had this duscussion in the previous thread, but I believe this is a different issue ![]()
I changed to Linux LTS so that I can change the resolution, but now:
I can successfully change the resolution with xrandr in Plasma/X11 but NOT with the Plasma monitor settings.
I can successfully change the resolution to the non-native one in GNOME/X11 with the Settings and with xrandr.
I can successfully change the resolution to the non-native one in LXqt/ with the Settings and with xrandr.
It seems it is purely a Plasma/Settings issue.

Try to disable the compositor (SHIFT+Alt+F12) and post the output of "xrandr -q", kscreen seems to have a preference for interlaced modes…
