How can I enable CoolBits on Wayland

Hello community,
I'll be brief here. I'm using Nvidia GPU that doesn't have a bios switch (can't un-screw the bios in case of bad flash) which operates at 80 degrees with 1300rpm fan speed (the default silent bios... silent my a). My PC is very well ventilated - a lot of high-quality case fans along with a good case (basically case isn't the reason of the high temperatures). I do not wish to risk a bios flash just to change the fan behaviour. After some research I found out that in order to "allow" custom fan curves on Nvidia GPU's I need to enable CoolBits. Anyway I have not found a single help online on how to do that FOR wayland. I tried using nfancurve from github, but as I need to enable CoolBits for it, it also didn't work. Btw using nvidia-smi also doesn't work for fan control - as it apparently also requires CoolBits.

Basically right now I do not wish to use the computer for gaming untill I can achieve cooler GPU temps... which is the reason of this specific PC's existence - gaming.
I really like arch linux and I have it very well configured to my liking along with Wayland and Gnome.
I would really like a solution in which i get to keep wayland, if possible ofcourse. All help is appreciated. Thank you in advance!!!!

Re: How can I enable CoolBits on Wayland

Update: NVM, apparently running nfancurve with sudo enables it to have control over the fans. No need for enabling CoolBits, just running it with sudo is good enough for wayland... huh. Anyone out there with nvidia gpu who would want to have custom gpu fan curve and is using wayland, you're welcome. But really .... its good that it works.

Note that I know very very little about nvidia, but isn't the only relevance of the CoolBits setting for your use to enable other tools like nividia-settings (or perhaps this nfancurve which itself depends on nvidia-settings) to make changes?  Nvidia-settings is  an X11 program, so that could not be used on a pure wayland setup without an Xwayland implementation.

If you can run nvidia-settings or nfancurve, you do have an X server running.  So xorg configuration can be used.

Re: How can I enable CoolBits on Wayland

I may be using xorg-xwayland as a compatibility layer.... but man, you can kill me, I still wouldn't be able to answer that question. I just sudo pacman -S xorg-xwayland xorg-xlsclients glfw-wayland, along with gnome, gdm and their dependencies. It worked in the end, I ain't completely sure if it's considered full wayland, but it works very well without any problems, so I don't want to mess with it. I'm pretty sure the GDM display manager has full Wayland support in Arch Linux thou. Anyway,  got nfancurve working simply by executing it with sudo... I've done nothing else than that. If it works - it works.... I ain't questioning it. Got it working literally right after posting this. The post might help users in the future thou, so it's fine.
