hoo brother...

Hi ppl can some one please make a pkgbuild for brother laser printers...i cant seem to make it work...i have a hl2040....in debian they have a foomatic hpij or something...that brings a lot of laser printer ..can some one help?

I have used this guide when I was installing my own printer which is a Brother HL-2030.

yeps that it..but not even one driver apears...kde or gnome..it should be the same..im using gnome...it detects the printer but no drivers are available...ive installed every foomatic ive found..and still nothing..can some one help?

sickhate, I was having the same problem of the printer being detected but no drivers showing - this happened when I tried to install the printer using gnome-cups-manager.  When I installed it using the manage printing in system tools (http://localhost:631/) it worked just fine and listed all available drivers.

loupy can you please explain better...i didnt get it right i think...ive tryed using gnome-cups-manager..with localprinter..they dont show the drivers...tryed the network printer and added the url you say...and still nothing...i apreciated if you could give an extra help..really wink

weel i solved my problm with a simple way...i dont know why the gnome cups manager dosent seek on foomatic director7..but the drivers are located ate /usr/share/foomatic/your printer...you can install it just searching with gnome cups manager...but..can any developer configure it properly? if its not asking too mutch? thanks...keep loving arch
